This Privacy Policy explains how Mayz LLC (“Mayz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile apps, and related services (the “Platform”). Mayz helps people create, discover, and attend in-person gatherings (“Events”). The Platform is for people 18 and older.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and/or phone number (used for sign-in and verification codes), and password or authentication credentials.
- Profile and questionnaire information: profile photo, city or approximate location, bio, food preferences, allergies or dietary notes (if you choose to share them), social style or personality responses, and fun facts or conversation starters. Sharing dietary and allergy information is voluntary; it is shown to hosts and may be visible to other Event participants so gatherings can be planned safely.
- Event and RSVP information: Events you create or host (title, description, date, location, capacity), RSVPs and their status (going, pending, waitlist, declined), potluck dishes and dish assignments, plus-one relationships, guest lists, and host approval or decline actions.
- Photos and content: profile photos and Event photos you upload, which are stored in Firebase Storage and may be visible to other participants of the same Event.
- Invitations you send: recipient email addresses, an Event summary (title, date, location), invite links and tokens, your user ID as sender, and email delivery status and audit records.
- Communications: messages, feedback, and support requests you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, identifiers, log data, and how you interact with the Platform.
- Approximate location: the city or area you provide, and Event locations, used to power Discover and Event pages. We do not track your background location.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable push notifications, we collect a device token to deliver them.
- Crash and diagnostic data: via Sentry — device and app version, error stack traces, basic diagnostic context, and user or session identifiers where needed to debug issues.
2. How We Use Information
- Operate the Platform: accounts, sign-in (including SMS verification codes), Events, RSVPs, waitlists, dish assignments, invites, and photo sharing;
- Show public Events in Discover with approximate location, while keeping exact addresses hidden until a host approves an RSVP (hosts control location detail);
- Send invitations, and notifications about RSVPs, approvals, waitlists, dish assignments, invites, and cancellations (in-app and, if enabled, push);
- Maintain safety: prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, keep audit records, and protect users;
- Fix problems and improve the Platform using diagnostics and aggregated usage insights;
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
3. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information is shared only:
- With other users, as the product works: your profile information is visible to hosts and guests of Events you join; Event details are visible to invitees and, for public Events, in Discover; Event photos are visible to participants of that Event; dietary and allergy notes you share are visible to your host.
- With service providers (processors) who handle data on our behalf, listed in Section 4.
- For legal and safety reasons: to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of users, the public, or Mayz.
- In a business transfer: if Mayz is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer subject to this Policy.
4. Service Providers We Use

These providers may process data on servers in the United States or other countries. They are bound by their own security and data-processing commitments and may not use your data for their own purposes.
5. Data Retention
- Account, profile, and questionnaire data: kept while your account is active and deleted or de-identified within a reasonable period after account deletion;
- Event, RSVP, and invite data: kept while relevant to active or past Events; records of cancelled Events and invite audit logs may be retained for safety and abuse prevention;
- Photos: stored until you delete them or your account is deleted;
- Diagnostics: retained on short rolling windows by our providers;
- Legal holds: some data may be retained longer where required for legal, safety, abuse-prevention, audit, or dispute purposes.
6. Deleting Your Account and Your Choices
- Delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your profile and personal data, subject to the retention exceptions above. You can also email support@mayz.life and we will process your request.
- Edit your data: update profile, questionnaire, and Event information in the app at any time;
- Push notifications: turn off in your device settings or in-app;
- Email invites: invite emails are transactional, sent at another user’s request; contact us to block future invites to your address.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to delete it; to correct it; and to opt out of sale or sharing. Mayz does not sell or share personal information as defined by the CPRA, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit. We honor Global Privacy Control signals where required. To exercise rights, email support@mayz.life; we will verify your request via your account email or phone. You may use an authorized agent with written permission.
EEA/UK visitors: where GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of contract (operating the Platform), legitimate interests (safety, diagnostics, improvement), and consent (optional data such as allergy notes and push notifications, which you may withdraw at any time). You may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and reliance on Google Cloud’s security infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Platform is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and in particular we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact support@mayz.life and we will delete it.
10. International Users
Mayz is operated from the United States and information is processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the Platform you understand your information will be processed as described in this Policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy at this URL with a new effective date and, for material changes, provide notice through the Platform. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
