Mayz is operated by Mayz LLC (“Mayz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Mayz provides a technology platform — our website, apps, and related services (the “Platform”) — that allows people to create, discover, and RSVP to in-person gatherings such as hosted dinners and events (“Events”).
Mayz is a neutral technology platform only. We are not a party to any interaction, agreement, or arrangement between users. We do not organize, host, supervise, control, or attend Events; do not own or inspect any venue or home; do not prepare, handle, or inspect any food; and do not employ, endorse, or vouch for any host or guest. Hosts and guests act entirely on their own behalf and at their own risk.
We do not conduct background checks, identity verification, or screening of any user, and we make no representations about the conduct, character, or safety of any user, venue, or Event. You are solely responsible for deciding whom to meet, where to go, and what to eat.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Mayz. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements and that all information you provide is accurate. The Platform is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to register.
You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. You may sign in using email or phone-based authentication; standard message and data rates may apply to SMS verification codes.
If you host an Event, you are solely responsible for it, including:
You acknowledge that hosting carries inherent risks and that you host entirely at your own risk. Mayz does not provide insurance of any kind. We strongly recommend hosts maintain appropriate insurance.
If you attend an Event, you agree to: RSVP truthfully and honor your commitments; disclose your own allergies and dietary restrictions to the host and exercise your own judgment about what you eat; treat hosts, guests, and venues with respect; not misuse invite links; and not engage in harmful, abusive, unlawful, or unsafe behavior.
You acknowledge that attending or hosting in-person gatherings with people you may not know carries inherent risks, including risk of property damage, foodborne or other illness, allergic reaction, bodily injury, disability, or death. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you voluntarily and freely assume all risks arising from your access to and use of the Platform and from any Event or interaction with any other user, whether online or in person, and you agree that it is your responsibility to investigate any Event, host, guest, venue, or food to determine whether it is suitable and safe for you.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you release, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue Mayz LLC, Mayz, and their officers, members, employees, agents, and contractors (the “Mayz Parties”) from and for any and all claims, demands, causes of action, losses, damages, expenses, or costs of any nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, arising from or in any way connected with any Event, any interaction or dispute between you and any other user, any food or beverage consumed, any venue, or any act or omission of any host or guest. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code §1542, which protects against releasing unknown claims.
Mayz does not currently process payments, sell tickets, or handle money between users in any way. Any financial arrangement between users is solely between them, is not facilitated or endorsed by Mayz, and is at their own risk. If paid features are introduced in the future, they will be governed by additional terms and processed by third-party payment providers.
You retain ownership of content you submit — profile information and photos, Event descriptions, dish details, bios, questionnaire responses, messages, feedback, and Event photos (“User Content”). You grant Mayz a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting), display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate, display, improve, promote, and market the Platform. This license ends when your content is deleted, except for content already shared with others, used in promotional materials with your consent, or retained as required for legal or safety purposes.
You represent that you own or have rights to your User Content, including consent from people appearing in photos you upload. Photos shared to an Event may be visible to other Event participants. You must not post content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that discloses another person’s private information without consent.
You must not: misrepresent yourself or an Event; use the Platform for commercial solicitation without our written consent; scrape, copy, or reverse engineer the Platform; circumvent safety features or invite-link privacy; harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm any person; use the Platform while under 18; or use the Platform in violation of any law. We may investigate violations and cooperate with law enforcement.
Mayz may suspend or terminate your account, remove content, cancel Events, or restrict access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, in our sole discretion, including for unsafe, fraudulent, abusive, or policy-violating behavior, or to protect users or Mayz. You may stop using the Platform and delete your account at any time in the app. Sections 7, 8, and 13 through 17 survive termination.
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. Mayz makes no warranty regarding any user, Event, venue, food, or interaction, and no advice or information obtained from Mayz creates any warranty.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: (a) the Mayz Parties will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunity, or for any personal injury, emotional distress, illness, death, or property damage arising from any Event or any interaction between users, even if advised of the possibility; and (b) the aggregate liability of the Mayz Parties for all claims arising out of or relating to the Platform or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (i) the amounts you paid to Mayz in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (ii) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Mayz Parties from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or connected with: your use of the Platform; your Events, hosting, or attendance; your User Content; your breach of these Terms; your violation of any law or rights of a third party; or any interaction between you and any other user.
You and Mayz agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court or seek injunctive relief for intellectual property misuse. You and Mayz each waive the right to a jury trial and the right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding. Before filing arbitration, the parties will first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by written notice to support@mayz.life and 30 days of good-faith negotiation. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@mayz.life within 30 days of first accepting these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to Section 16, any claim not subject to arbitration must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
The Platform relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, hosting, notifications), Google Maps (location and geocoding), Resend (email delivery), and Sentry (error reporting). Their terms and privacy practices are their own, and Mayz is not responsible for third-party services.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Mayz. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect, and the unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Nothing in these Terms creates any partnership, employment, or agency relationship between you and Mayz or between Mayz and any host.
